Prayer & Support
Prayer ministry
St. John's believes in the power of prayer. Members of our congregation and staff would love to know how to pray for you. We consider it a great honor. You can submit your requests through our onsite prayer cards or via email here.
Are you a prayer warrior? Does your heart burn with a passion for others? If you would like to join others at St. John's who pray weekly over the needs of others, please contact the parish office.
Pastoral care
Our priest is available to assist members of the congregation with spiritual needs as well as to meet with those who are seeking guidance on a variety of personal and family issues – from simply naming the issue to helping connect you to the proper growth solution. Because of his limited availability, he will refer long-term counseling needs to a competent and caring Christian counselor, psychologist, or psychiatrist to provide care for situations including, but not limited to:
- Conflict in marriage
- Family & Parenting
- Addictions
- Divorce
- Depression & Anxiety
- Eating Disorders
- Grief & Loss
Rector's Discretionary Fund
Our priest also has access to emergency funds through the Discretionary Fund. Members of the wider Hampton Roads community may receive assitance, after seeking aid through community agencies, on Thursday mornings between 10am and noon.
